Liaison Home Automation Awarded Patent for User Interface

Landscapes and outdoor home integration now possible with Glow Touch and Glow Scape, an ETouch Technology user interface

Liaison Home Automation has been awarded patents for their one touch home automation user interface software: Glow Touch for home interiors and Glow Scapes for exterior landscapes. With these ground breaking interfaces, home floor plans and landscape plans are easily viewed via an iPad, iPhone, or Android device, and home automation is controlled with one touch. The ease of use that these newly-patented interfaces provide is groundbreaking; users no longer need less intuitive, menu driven systems that require several steps before automation systems can function.

GlowTouch for home interiors provides a direct visual representation of a home’s floorplan. Users touch to select a room and control its lights, audio/video, security, motorized shades, and room temperature. The overall view of every room in a home, and what functions of the home automation system are running is simple and intuitive to use.

Glow Scapes, the outdoor home automation interface, allows users to view the landscape and surrounding areas integrated into their home automation system. Glow Scapes can manage multiple irrigation systems and landscape lighting zones. Glow Scapes has the capability to schedule pre-set watering zones, and allows for water conservation with moisture detection to monitor the amount of water dispersed.

Liaison Home Automation’s CEO, Steve Weber, comments, “Being awarded the patents for Glow Touch and Glow Scapes sets Liaison apart from other home automation companies. We now provide a user experience that no one else can offer.”  Liaison interface developer, Kent Layton, states, “We know the results were well worth the 5 year challenge and back and forth dialogue with the U.S. patent office.
